Sea Kayak Georgia, Tybee Island just a few minutes from downtown Savannah, offers a unique opportunity to paddle in coastal waters off the shores of Georgia. Here you can experience calm, serene tours in the estuary or surfing in the famous “Triangle” between Tybee and Little Tybee. We love all paddling: sea kayak, surf kayak, stand up paddleboard, canoe. Sea Kayak Georgia mission: To encompass the highest quality of adventure travel and experiential education. Our emphasis is on skills development and responsible enjoyment of the coastal wilderness.
Day tours and camping feature ecology based programming. School of Coastal paddlesport offers a whole range of courses for introduction, intermediate and advanced students. American Canoe Association and British Canoe Union courses are offered. Instructor Certification is offered in ACA Levels 1-5 kayaking, Level 2 Canoe, Level 3 SUP. Kids and Adult Kayak Camps in summer, fall and winter surf camps, symposia and private instruction are all available.
Join us for our fun salt marsh paddle tour every morning and afternoon, no experience necessary, only the desire to paddle. Our seasoned guides and naturalists love to interpret the beautiful Georgia coast and are the perfect intro to the sport of kayaking or stand up paddleboarding.

Marsha Henson and Ronnie Kemp, owners and instructors
Ronnie is the founder of CanoeCanoe Outfitters and co owner of Sea Kayak Georgia. Ronnie’s first love is canoeing on the magical Ohoopee River. Ronnie has a great love of photography and many of the images on this website are through his eyes. Ronnie is a seasoned tour guide on the Coast of Georgia, inland rivers of south Georgia and a registered guide in the Okefenokee Swamp. He instructs and coaches ACA and BCU classes on every level with Sea Kayak Georgia. Whether you are in search of beginning instruction or want to hone your Sea Kayak Surfing skills, Ronnie has the skill and patience to assist you in obtaining a higher level and have lots of fun on the way.
Ronnie is an ACA Level 5 Coastal Kayak Instructor Trainer and runs most of the ACA IDW and ICE programming at Sea Kayak Georgia. He is also a BCU Coach 3 Sea Kayak, ACA Level 3 SUP instructor, WPA Level 2 SUP instructor. In the past, Ronnie’s paddling and coaching has taken him to Wales, Spain, Baja, California, Mexico, Florida, Michigan, Virginia and North Carolina.
Marsha is co owner of Sea Kayak Georgia, and is enjoying all aspects of running a paddlesport business on Tybee Island. Whether its teaching kayak, canoe or SUP she loves all forms of paddling and most of all sharing with her many students.. Marsha is an ACA Level 5 Coastal Kayak Instructor and a BCU Coach 3 Sea Kayak Trainee, ACA Level 2 SUP instructor with SUP Yoga endorsement, WPA Level 2 SUP instructor.Marsha also completed her 230 hour Yoga teacher training at Asheville Yoga Center in early 2014. Look for her on the water around Tybee leading day trips, student groups, and providing instruction. Marsha is also a registered Okefenokee guide and an ACA Canoe Instructor. Kayaking travels include Wales, California, Florida, Michigan, Mexico and North Carolina and of course the Coast of Georgia. The greatest paddling joy is found paddling in the home waters of Tybee Island and the coast of Georgia. Join her for a great day experiencing the local waters.
Dan Genrich
Dan is a gifted naturalist by trade, he has spent many years as a school teacher and staff of Oatland Island Wildlife Center and is now teaching science at Jenkins High School in Savannah. Dan has been certified as an ACA Level 4 Coastal Kayak Instructor. He spends his summers and weekends with our visitors kayaking the estuaries and ocean water.
Tom Oxnard
Part of the Outward Bound team most of the year, Tom shares his down time with Sea Kayak Georgia as a guide and is an ACA Level 3 Coastal Kayak Instructor. His seasoned ways and love of nature give our tours an extra flair. Coastal Georgia is Tom’s home and he shares it with excellence
Lauren Francis
Lauren is extremely serious about fitness. She will lead you on a kayak or sup trip and let you know how far you went and how many calories you burned. She is gentle, calm and adventurous all in one.
Jimmy Griffin
Jimmy has a Ph.D. in Outdoor Education and has been an outdoor guide his entire adult life. He is a retired University Professor and currently holds an ACA Level 2 Coastal Kayak Instructor Certification. Jimmy has a passion for all things paddling and a love for identifying coastal birds. His laidback style will put you at ease and have you relaxed while enjoying our barrier island wilderness.
Joel Rubio
Joel is a trained biologist combined with the funnest outdoor explorer rolled into one. He will seine and cast and introduce you to marine creatures you never knew about. He can explain the Coast of Georgia eco system in a way that makes you feel like you have been in a fairy tale.
Kenneth Lile
Kenneth is a wonderful artist going to SCAD, in his off time he guides. He is a gentle fun soul and loves to explore Little Tybee with lots of breaks for swimming. With his excellent eye for beauty he can introduce you to the barrier island wilds.
Join the Sea Kayak Georgia Team!
We are looking for enthusiastic outdoor individuals interested in coastal water sports. Join our team to promote paddle sport through tours, educational group programs, instruction, overnight trips and retail sales. We are looking for who would like to share experiential programming with travelers to the Tybee Island area. Must be able to promote the core values of Sea Kayak Georgia and honor our standards for teamwork and customer service and standards for promoting paddlesport to all ages.
Guides needed for seasonal work from March through November. Will be kayaking, stand up paddling and canoeing.
Internships available for College Students: interns contribute to the operation of Sea Kayak Georgia through guiding tours, participating in instructional programming and working in the administrative side of the business. Past interns have developed interpretive programs, learned about small business outfitters and obtained coaching and instructional certifications during their internships. We can assist you in designing a work role here that can meet the specifications of your internship and assisting us with our operations. Prior experience is great, but not necessary. Employees will gain a tremendous amount of experience on the job. Training programs are offered through our regular scheduled programming.
